About the Role

We're looking for a Tax Manager with strong commercial real estate experience who is excited to take on a leadership role within a growing, modern firm. This role goes beyond technical execution — you'll be a key driver of client relationships, internal team development, and process improvement.

Because we're a smaller, collaborative team, you'll have visibility across both tax and accounting functions, particularly within real estate development and investment entities.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns
• Prepare quarterly estimates
• Work directly with commercial real estate developers and investors
• Assist with accounting for real estate entities, including development costs, capitalization, job costing/project tracking, and financial statement flow
• Research and resolve tax issues, including real estate-specific areas like depreciation and 1031 exchanges
• Respond to IRS and state notices
• Manage client engagements and be a reliable point of contact
• Assist with bookkeeping and financial review (QBO/QBD as needed)
• Help improve workflows, templates, and internal processes
• Mentor and support junior staff

Salary: $100,000–$135,000

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA required
• 8–12 years of public accounting experience
• Strong experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagements
• Solid understanding of federal and state tax compliance and planning
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff
• Proficiency with CCH Axcess or ProSystem fx
• Ability to manage multiple clients in a remote environment
• Must be located in the United
